Application |
The purpose of supplying growing instructions to growers of seed potatoes is to provide the potato grower with healthy, productive and virus free seed potatoes. A detailed description of the production is given for e.g. pre-sprouting, planting, fertilization, weed and disease control, harvesting and storage. Required steps to be taken in relation to avoid transmission of diseases from nearby potato fields are described, along with guidelines for appropriate crop rotation. There are links to descriptions of legislation, pests and diseases and PPPs when mentioned in the text. The instructions are updated on a regular basis by The Danish Agricultural Advisory Service. |

Argumentation |
The information in this document is based on the latest knowledge regarding growth of seed potatoes. The knowledge is based on trial based experience obtained at the Danish Agricultural Advisory Service and an interpretation of the results of national and international potato research. The growing instructions are updated on a yearly basis which ensures a dissemination of the newest information to the advisors and farmers. |
